A look into my life!
My name is Alyssa Shindel, and I am a Fashion Merchandising major with a Media Studies minor at SUNY Oneonta. I am a junior, and recently got accepted into the Fashion Institute of Technology for the 2022-2023 school year for the major of Advertising and Marketing Communications.
I am from Long Island, New York but my dream has always been to live in New York City. I worked alongside Scott Saltzman, employee of PUMA, in the showroom in New York City, and learned hands-on experience that has benefitted me tremendously. I had the opportunity to present upcoming PUMA garments for future seasons to buyers both virtually and in-person, and I could not have been more grateful.
In addition, I had the privilege of being a teacher’s assistant alongside my professor Dr. Portway for the fashion entrepreneurship course. I assisted the students with homework assignments and projects, and also took daily attendance of the class. It was an honor to be asked to be Dr. Portway’s teacher assistant, and I truly learned an abundance of knowledge that will help me with my future endeavors in the fashion industry.
